Nov 17, 2019, Island Bay, Wellington... Still waiting for either rough weather or for Summer to arrive. At the moment we are still sort of in between.
I'm still a bit immobilized due to my spine, but it's getting better, and I just had to get out, doing some photography. There's not much going on, the weather being as it is. No exciting waves or reflections. So I decided to do some fun stuff. The below image is a so called "cloud stack". This means, it's a stack, or combination, of several images, taken in the same location, pointing in the same direction using the same settings etc. In this case, 25 images, taken in intervals of 6 seconds between them. So everything stays the same in the images, only the clouds moved on. When combining those images into one, the cloud movements show in some sort of tractor-tyre pattern. In the following image I used the darker parts of the clouds. I also created one using the brighter parts, which I will post at a later time - to show the difference. This is something the human eye can't see, but a camera and some editing techniques can make this visible. Of course my images are available as prints, please contact me if you're interested photos@wernerkaffl.com
