This one has been taken the same night as my last post. Also from Point Halswell, this time the classic version, showing the lighthouse itself!

Point Halswell, Wellington. For a change, this is looking towards the city, not the 'usual' light house image.
It's not always windy in Wellington, though such quiet nights are pretty rare. If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Here another dramatic shot from recent windy days!
I really can't get enough of the sea. If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com On a nice evening, after work - and luckily I had my camera with me.
Catching a plane between two rainbows is quite rare and nothing one could actually plan. Some of those images are panoramas, click the previews to see the full images. If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com ... When the sun meets clouds and rain, everything looks like molten silver!
Wellington, close to Oriental Bay, looking North. If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Yesterday, Lyall Bay Beach.
The sea was a bit choppy, wind was up, and some kites were out. Luckily I had my camera on me! If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Today, after a quick visit to Lyall Bay, I went to my favorite spots around Island Bay. The sea didn't calm down much yet! Still all a bit rough, wet and windy. Ah, yes, and cold too...
If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com After all those wild seas I posted lately, I thought I turn a bit land-wards. Those aren't recent pics, right, we had rains and storms, but I just felt like putting those up.
This also served as a background for one of my Game of Thrones themed series, the last one in this post: Ghost - 'Winter is coming' If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Thursday, 09/07/2020, 9:30-10:30 AM.
It was still pretty windy and wet, some sunny patches and still big swells. I had some time off, so I got the camera gear into its rain coat and off to the south coast. A ferry braving the weather, some stunning lighting and some equally stunning waves were my reward - more to come... If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com 'True' Street Photography - well, I'm joking. Street photography doesn't necessarily need a street. But I thought, why not taking it really literally? On this day, around noon, there was a pretty strong but short downpour in my street, then sun again. So, looking North, I had the sun and her reflections in such a great way, I just had to get my camera.
Btw, I play it safe, I was actually standing on a traffic island, not on the actual road! If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Just some fun I had with a bird during our recent storms...
If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Here another one from Tuesday 30/06/2020, Owhiro Bay.
As mentioned in my earlier post, on this day we had pretty much all possible Wellington weather options at once. I was standing in rain and strong gales, further out to sea there was sunshine, clouds, and even a few (not only one) rainbows. In this shot I was lucky enough to catch one of them! If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Pretty strong winds and swell on July 1st on our south coast.
I imagine the people on this boat weren't too happy... The other three images are showing those waves somewhat closer... For scale, the mountains in the background are parts of the Kaikoura Ranges! If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com Tuesday afternoon, 30/06 around 4 pm to be exact, Owhiro Bay, Wellington.
Finally I can use my 'storm lens' again, This was an awesome experience, clouds, wind, rain, sunshine and a couple of rainbows (I'll post them later), all at once. I was quite literally blown away! If you are interested in my artwork, please email me: photos@wernerkaffl.com |
